Travel French Class

Planning a trip to France or to a Francophone country and want to learn some basic French, this class is for you!

Your native-French instructor will introduce you to the French language and to some key words, phrases and questions you will need during your travels. This class is for beginners who want to be able to :

  • Meet and greet people

  • Ask for directions

  • Order meals in cafes and restaurants

  • Converse about transportation and accommodation needs

  • Ask key questions regarding sightseeing and while shopping

 Upon completion of the class, you will feel more confident to navigate your way during your travels. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the session!

 Class details

  • Duration: 6 weeks

  • 12 hours

  • 2-hour class

  • The class will start during the week of February, 4th, 2019

  • Price for the 12 hours: $264 (Payments can be made online or via cash & checks)

Week 01 : GREETINGS, INTRODUCING YOURSELF, ESSENTIALS, NUMBERS

  • Be able to say hello, goodbye, how are you

  • Be able to introduce yourself – your name, age, where you are from and your profession

  • Be able to say the essentials : yes, no, please, thank you, you’re welcome, sorry…

  • Be able to say and understand the 27 numbers required to say all French numbers

Week 02 : LANGUAGE DIFFICULTIES, HOW TO ASK QUESTIONS

  • Be able to inform someone that you don’t understand, that you want them to speak slower or repeat

  • Be able to ask the 5 major questions : who, what, when, where, why

  • Be able to say and understand the subjects (difference between tu and vous) and the verbs ‘to be and to have’

 Week 03 : DATES, TIME, DIRECTIONS

  • Be able to say and understand dates and times

  • Be able to understand simple directions
