Training Session Content
Part one (for teachers working in the Alliances Françaises)
9h00 – 12h00
This workshop will focus on the works of the Common European Framework of Reference and on textbooks offered by European publishers*. The objective is to see how to supplement textbook contents with teacher-developed materials such as resources lists, activity lists and assessment plan.
Participants will examine model teaching units that involve all communication skills and will create their own lesson plans based on the specificities of their audience and their curriculum.
They will also reflect on the relevance of an ongoing evaluation vs. a test schedule.
At the end of the workshop, participants will develop a self-contained unit including essential goals, activities, formative and summative assessment, and rubrics.
Note: Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their laptop or tablet since they will make ample use of the internet.

* the examples selected for this workshop are taken from the scope and sequence adopted by "Alter Ego Plus" (Hachette) but they are easily adaptable to any other textbook.
