About the LANGUAGE CENTER
The Alliance Française of Greater Phoenix offers a wide range of French courses open to people of all ages, for beginners to advanced levels, from Monday through Friday and also during the weekend throughout the year.
The Alliance Française of Greater Phoenix, like every single Alliance Française in the world, follows the official program built by the Council of Europe called: The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
It was designed to provide a transparent, coherent and comprehensive basis for the elaboration of language syllabuses and curriculum guidelines, the design of teaching and learning materials, and the assessment of foreign language proficiency. It is used in Europe but also in other continents and is available in 40 languages.
The CEFR describes foreign language proficiency at six levels:
- A1: Beginner
- A2: Intermediate
- B1: Advanced 1
- B2: Advanced 2
- C1: Proficient 1
- C2: Proficient 2
Whatever your motivations and availability, you will find a course that suits you. Our classes are given by certified and experienced teachers who are native French speakers and fully qualified to teach French as a second language. The instruction is designed to develop practical and interactive communication skills and to familiarize students with the many-faceted aspects of French contemporary life.
