The Alliance Française of Greater Phoenix offers a wide range of French courses open to people of all ages, from beginners to advanced levels, Monday through Friday and also during the weekend throughout the year.
Each Alliance Française, follows the official program built by the Council of Europe called: The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The CEFR describes foreign language proficiency at six levels: A1: Beginner 1 / A2: Beginner 2 / B1: Intermediate 1 / B2: Intermediate 2 / C1: Advanced 1 / C2: Advanced 2.
We offer three 12-week sessions per year (Fall, Winter & Spring) and two 6-week sessions for the Summer.

This 12-week A1 (Beginner) course is perfect for those starting their French journey! It covers units 0-1-2 of the Tendances 1 textbook and workbook (please note that the books are not included in the course fees).
Throughout the class, students will learn to introduce themselves, engage in basic conversations, and gain exposure to French and Francophone culture.
By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently hold simple conversations, talk about themselves, and navigate essential everyday situations. After completing this class, you’ll be ready to move on to the A1.2 level!
Please note, there will be no class during Thanksgiving week (November 25th to 30th). The reduced/early bird price is available until November 2nd, so be sure to register soon—spots are limited! Fees are non-refundable, but a credit can be applied towards the next session.

Students will strengthen their ability to form sentences in the past and future tenses, while also improving their question structure and grammar skills. Vocabulary topics will include work and event planning.
Upon completion, students will be ready to advance to the A2.2 class in the next session at the Alliance Française.
