"Défi Inter-Alliances" is a contest organized by the Alliances Françaises of the United States & the Fondation des Alliances Françaises, located in Paris.
In this contest, competitors are invited to take part in a general culture questionnaire, in French, through the digital platform Kahoot.
The contest takes place virtually (on Zoom & Kahoot) in three stages:
- a local selection phase (on October 15th, 10 am) - first 2 winners advance to National selection
- a national selection phase (on November 12th, 10am) - first 2 winners advance to international final
- an international final (on November 26th, 8 am)
Participation in the contest is entirely free.
The contest is open to all registered students of the participating Alliances Françaises under the following conditions:
- Be at least 16 years old at the time of registration
- Have a level - or be in the process of learning - B1, B2, C1 or C2
Learners who do not meet these criteria will not be able to participate.
The 3 selection phases - local, national, and international final - will take place with a general knowledge questionnaire in French through the Kahoot digital platform.
Participants must use two digital devices to participate, through two easy-to-access and free platforms (a computer to access Zoom for the virtual game space, a cell phone to answer the questionnaire from the Kahoot application).
The contest is animated only in French and the general knowledge questions are also written only in French.

The answers to the general knowledge questionnaire proposed on the Kahoot platform will result in a point count and a ranking:
Local selection:
The two participants of the local selection who will have scored the most points will be designated as finalists and will represent their Alliances at the national selection and, they will get a free 1-year individual membership at the AF of Greater Phoenix.
National selection:
The two participants in the national selection who score the most points will be designated as finalists and will represent their "national" network in the international final and, they will receive a set of books & goodies.
International final
The three participants in the international final with the most points will be declared winners of the competition.

For the international final, the first three winners will be offered a
15-day linguistic stay in one of the Alliances Françaises of France partners of the contest.
